Alright, folks. Welcome once again to The Grind, strain reviews of the best bud available in the 509, courtesy of The 420 Minute.

Our ‘Brand on Blast’ this month is Northwest’s Finest, a producer/processor south of Spokane with great weed and great prices. You can check out The Grind’s review of Gold OG at www.patreon.com/the420minute and keep a lookout for our upcoming review of NW Fire.

Star Cookie is the 50/50 hybrid love-child of OG Kush (a staple for hybrids in the Pacific Northwest), Durban, and Granddaddy Purple.

Let’s get to it.

The nugs I got in my $10 gram of Star Cookie (yeah, I said nugs. Plural.) were tightly packed and firm, but just a little crumbly. Dense but delicate. As you can see above, the bud was pale green with long, ginger hairs and it was absolutely coated in kief and crystals.

The aroma as I opened the bag was piney and earthy with just a hint of berry. The inhale was very smooth and the berry flavor opened up on the exhale leaving a pleasant after-taste. This one is a slow builder but very mellow(indica hard at work!), and I would say it’s great for an evening boost but also a good weed for Netflix and chill. With such a relaxing high and the slow pick-up, this strain is great for the first-timers or the one-hitter quitters in your circle. Although the more aggressive smokers might find this a bit mild, it’s definitely a good mixer or follow-up for dabs.
