Alright, folks. This is The Grind, your source for fresh reviews of the sweetest strains in Spokane.

Our strain today comes from a Spokane Valley Tier-One producer, MJ Productions. An indoor grow that hand trims and cures, MJ Productions is self-described as a “mom & pop” garden and they offer a variety of strains available at retailers across the state.

Just The Basic Facts

Strain: Swedish Phish

THC/CBD: 27.92% total THC/ 0% total CBD

Type: Flower

The nugs were very dense but delicate and dry (to be expected with an early summer harvest date). With dull orange hairs curling through green leaf tinged with gold, these nugs were still gorgeous six months after harvest.

The aroma as I cracked the bag was rich and complex, difficult to pin down. Picking up notes of pine and earth as well as something somewhat spicy (possibly after effects of the cinnamon pesticide). On their website, MJ Productions mentioned pine and citrus. I definitely noticed the citrus (or recognized it as such) after reading that. The terpene pinene is responsible for that piney scent and flavor, and it’s one of the dominant terpenes in Dutch Treat (crossed with Blowfish to create Swedish Phish!).

The inhale was a little harsh on the throat (duh! you are inhaling smoke!!!) but in an icy bong it was velvet smooth. Newbies beware! This one starts off super mellow but creeps up on you!! It was relaxing and subtle during my post-work session but it also gave me focus and stress relief after a wake-and-bake. With long lasting effects this is a great buy on a budget.
