Alright, folks. Welcome back to The Grind, your source for fresh-to-death strain reviews, featuring some of the top farms/producers in Washington state. We’re surfing in today on a sunbeam, sending this review along through time and space in hopes it will reach intelligent life somewhere in the universe.

Okay, okay. So I’m reading NDT’s book Astrophysics for People in a Hurry, and you all should too!! Reading is fundamental, and math and science are the future.

Now give me a moment to climb back out of this rabbit hole. Okay. Moving on.

Today’s strain was produced by Blue Roots Cannabis Co and is one of their Limited Edition strains. Located in Airway Heights, just outside of Spokane (gotta love that eastern Washington weed!), with a mission to craft quality, consistent bud. As a regular consumer of Blue Roots products, I am always extremely pleased with the buds, pre-rolls, and concentrates.

Now, let’s check out this strain!

The overall impression for me of this strain is summed up in a single word: subdued. The nugs were dense and sticky with pale, pastel tones of green and orange. They were decent sized as well, and expertly trimmed, which is par for the course with Blue Roots. I’m always impressed with the visual quality of their buds.

With a sweet, fruity scent that was not overpowering and an equally sweet taste, it is easy to understand why Blue Roots calls this strain The Sweeties. A smooth-hitting strain in pipe or bong. The sweetness definitely carries the day for this strain, with a scent and flavor reminiscent of summer berry-picking and laying in a field of wildflowers.

A subtle onset, what I have dubbed ‘lightweight creep’, and a super mellow, uplifting high make The Sweeties a great strain in the morning as well as a possible anxiety-relieving strain. A bowl of Sweeties and a 24oz. blended Caramel frappe from Legal Addiction (on 29th in the Rosauer’s parking lot) made the first 3 hours of an 11 hour shift bearable. I highly recommend trying this strain while you can, especially if you want to start your day on a sweet note!!
